MoMA updates design collection

Really think that this show at the MoMA would be such a good influence on my out look on design, however seeing as NYC is a £500 air ticket away I shall just have to do with reading news articles and looking at pictures of the collection online...gutted!!

New York’s Museum of Modern Art is updating its design collection this month with an installation introducing around 60 objects designed within the past five years.

The Just In: Recent Acquisitions from the Collection installation is a selection of work representing the diversity of contemporary design practice, including the latest innovations in architectural, industrial and graphic design.

Among the new acquisitions on view are three graphic identity projects designed by US consultancy 2x4, the architectural model of Seoul’s Togok Towers designed by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, as well as a variety of new seat designs, textiles displays and works by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec.

Organised by Paola Antonelli, the recently promoted senior curator of the museum’s department of architecture and design, and Christian Larsen, curatorial assistant, the installation features in the Leonard Dobbs Gallery and will remain on display until November.
